Welcome to the REALEX construction site information page

This website aims to inform local residents about the conference centre project for the European Commission.

This project forms part of the development of the European Quarter and, according to the current provisional schedule, is expected to continue until mid-2028.

Here you will find working hours, upcoming phases, and practical information related to the construction site.

Upcoming construction phase

Some upcoming phases may generate more visible activity in the neighbourhood.

​

February – early May:
Organisation of exceptional transport operations related to foundation works (weekday arrivals estimated around 06:00).

​

April (provisional):
Specific technical operations that may require temporary traffic adjustments (e.g. lifting operations or heavy logistics).

The exact arrangements may change depending on administrative permits and operational constraints.

Provisional working hours

Construction site activities are organised in accordance with the permits issued by the competent authorities.

​

Weekdays (Monday – Friday)
Main activities scheduled between 07:00 and 20:00

​

Saturdays (occasionally)
Activities may take place between 08:00 and 16:00

​

However, certain logistical, technical or safety operations (installation, preparation, arrival or departure of vehicles, specific handling operations, etc.) may take place outside these hours, in compliance with applicable permits and regulatory requirements.

Where possible, these operations are scheduled so as to limit their impact.

We are aware that a construction project of this scale may cause temporary inconvenience.

The project teams strive to:

  • carefully plan sensitive operations,

  • limit occupation of public roads,

  • comply with applicable permits,

  • and maintain transparent communication.

 

By nature, the construction site remains subject to change and certain adjustments may be necessary, but we ensure that their impact is managed responsibly and communicated transparently as soon as possible.
